General Information

The Past

The Holliston Sportsmen's Association was founded in 1939 as a non-profit corporation. The purpose of the organization as stated in our charter is "To promote legitimate sport with rod and gun, and bow and arrow". In the early years meetings were held in the Holliston Town Hall. In the late 1940's land was acquired on Bullard Street in Holliston, and shooting ranges were established. Our clubhouse was built in 1953. Our trout pond was constructed in the early 1960's.

The Present

Today we continue to promote activities consistent with our original purpose. We provide facilities for and training in the safe use of firearms, an archery range, and a stocked trout pond. Competitive shooting events are staged throughout the year. Annual events open to the public include the youngster's Trout Derby, a Clambake, and a Fish & Game Dinner. The membership meets on the first Wednesday of each month to conduct club business. The Board of Directors meet on the last Wednesday of each month.

The Future

The Association is looking forward to the challenge of maintaining the traditions of the past while moving forward into the new millennium. We are seeking new members to help us meet these challenges. If you have an interest in hunting, fishing, shooting, or any of the outdoor sports we would encourage you to consider becoming a member of the Holliston Sportsmen's Association. Please review the rest of the information presented here, then click on the "Becoming a Member" navigation bar.

Junior Rifle Club

The Holliston Sportsmen's Association hosts a Junior Rifle Club. Under very close supervision youngsters aged twelve and older learn the principles of firearm safety, and rifle marksmanship. The Junior Rifle Club meets once a week from October to March.

A Woman's Place is at the Club

Holding positions as Officers and Directors sportswomen in our membership make vital contributions in managing and directing the activities of the Association. Women members of the Association, while participating in all club activities, also meet on the fourth Monday each month to practice shooting and socialize.

Firearm Safety Training
Massachusetts certified Firearm Safety classes are available at the Holliston Sportsmen's Association. Instructors are N.R.A. and Massachusetts certified. The course curriculum is also approved and certified by the Commonwealth. Course graduates receive a certificate of completion that is recognized by firearm licensing authorities.
